Executive Assistant
Full support for an Executive who works primarily in the areas of corporate business development, design and construction/contract administration.

A vibrant and innovative Saskatoon real estate construction and development company is seeking an executive assistant who will report directly to a member of the Executive team and fully support that Executive who works primarily in the areas of corporate business development, design, and construction/contract administration. Job location will be in Saskatoon at the corporate head office.

The successful Candidate will be involved with many high-level real estate projects on various aspects in support of the Executive and have the following abilities:

  • Highly organized, efficient, professional, trustworthy, prompt, reliable, and a self-starter;
  • Excellent professional level written and oral communication skills;
  • Highly proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite especially Outlook, Word (including its Tracking function) and Excel;
  • Attention to document detail, proofreading, and formatting of documents;
  • Character flexibility to follow directions of the Executive and be able to take charge and be responsive to the Executive's corporate needs in the absence of the Executive;
  • Interest in the fields of design and construction related contracts;
  • Knowledge to interact with IT people to resolve any technology issues affecting the Candidate's work or the Executive's work;
  • Manage the Executive's calendar and schedule;
  • Flexibility to quickly adapt to the varying needs of the Executive and be a team player by taking on additional work for others in the company when requested by the Executive;
  • Work independently in the Executive's absence;
  • Identify what needs to be done and accomplish those tasks with little supervision; and
  • Work cohesively and cooperatively in a fast-paced team environment.

 

Traits highly desirable in the Candidate are:

  • Experience or familiarity with construction or corporate-related legal documents; and
  • Familiarity with architecture and design.

The successful Candidate will be living in Saskatoon and ready to take the position without delay.
Salary will commensurate with qualifications.
5 years required experience.

Project Manager
Responsible for a project's performance, including quality, budget, schedule, safety and owner satisfaction.

Meridian Development Corp. is looking for a passionate individual to help us sweat the details while fostering creativity and innovation in the planning and execution of our commercial construction projects. Within the organization, project managers are responsible for a project’s performance, including safety, quality, budget, schedule, and owner satisfaction.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for individuals with progressive commercial construction project experience that includes technical skills, mature interpersonal skills, communication, leadership, supervision, and management. Past experiences most suitable would include construction planning and execution, contract management, engineering, and safety.

Candidates should possess at least one of the following: technical diploma, engineering degree, or equivalent experience and knowledge. Other skills or equivalent experiences and knowledge that would be considered most beneficial to helping us attain results are basic engineering and building construction skills (5-10 years) that might include:

  • Structural design skills
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Building layout surveying
  • Quantity surveying
  • Building systems commissioning
  • Scheduling and planning
  • Forecasting/job costing
  • Safe work practices
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Contract management
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office

Construction Project Superintendent
Full time or contract position for an experienced Project Superintendent.

Meridian Development Corp., an industry leader and dynamic real estate development firm in Saskatoon, is seeking a Construction Project Superintendent.

Company will consider employment to grow with the organization or a contract position.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with leadership qualities who is able to work without supervision, manage people and projects, and is a team player with strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, work in a fast paced environment, be capable of forward innovative philosophy and interact on a professional level with large institutions.

This position requires the candidate to have 10 years’ experience as a Project Superintendent on multi-family or commercial projects, an understanding of different project delivery models such as design-build, and construction management.

The successful candidate will report directly to Meridian Directors and will become familiar with all company projects and be involved in a variety of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Along with the Project Operations Manager, manage all trades and subcontractors that are working on the project

  • Build to a very high company standard and in accordance with all approved plans, specs, and applicable building codes

  • Review and maintain the construction schedule as laid out by the Project Operations Manager

  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when working with the Client to ensure that they are at all times more than satisfied

  • Work to maintain site safety policies and procedures in order to meet or exceed corporate safety manual, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Workers' Compensation Board

  • Review and code all invoices and check for any discrepancies

  • Work in a manner to effectively and efficiently manage job costs and ensure that the budget is met

  • Maintain daily log
