University of Saskatchewan
Meridian is not a typical general contractor, and never was that more evident than with the College Quarter Hotel project. Working with P.R. Hotels, Meridian was engaged to redesign the 9 storey project and provide value-engineering to bring thew development within budget; something other general contractors were unable to deliver without compromising quality. Not only did Meridian reduce the budget by $5 million, it was able to add an additional 20 hotel rooms and lower the parkade by one level without losing any parking spaces. This project combines modern, clean interiors with the historical beauty of the University of Saskatchewan buildings by incorporating their hallmark tyndall stone.
The development became the province’s first dual-branded hotel offering a combined 220 rooms, in a development offering clean modern interiors with references to the historical beauty of the University of Saskatchewan by incorporating its hallmark tyndall stone into the exterior façades. With breathtaking views of the University campus, Griffiths Stadium and beyond, the building creates a VIP view of University of Saskatchewan Huskies home games, and is a favourite home away from home to visitors of the U of S, and the city.
Meridian Development is devoted to building luxurious spaces across Western Canada, specializing in residential, mixed-use, and commercial development.
